The app connects directly to the printer, making it pretty easy to set up the printer and hook up the printer to your Wi-Fi network.
If you have a smartphone at hand, it’s well worth using the Epson Smart Panel app to guide you through the setup process. The supplied black ink is enough for 14,000 pages, while the colored ink bottles hold enough ink to print 5,200 pages each – so it will be a while before you need to top up on ink. In the box, Epson bundles two boxes of black ink and one bottle each of cyan, magenta, and yellow. It has a single paper tray, which is the 100-sheet capacity slot around the back, but it has an auto-duplex feature, meaning it can print on both sides of a sheet automatically to keep wasted paper to a minimum. The Epson 2760 produces prints at a maximum resolution of 5,760 x 1,440dpi, while the scanner supports resolutions of up to 1,200 x 2,400ppi. The control panel is on the front and it has a small 1.5in color screen, which you can interact with via a set of buttons located towards its right-hand side, the entire panel is hinged at the top, so you can pull it out to the most convenient viewing angle. Also, if needed, it can rest in a nearly vertical position. You will need some extra space in front for the output tray to pull out, and the scanner lid hinges at the back, along its longest side, meaning you’ll need some space around the back, too. The device is reasonably compact, measuring 14.8 x 13.7 x 9.4 inches and weighing 13.2 pounds. It doesn’t have a fax mode or an automatic document feeder for the scanner, but for a small home-office setup, it has almost all the key features you’ll need. The Epson Ecotank 2760 copies and scans from the flatbed scanner on the top of the printer and prints from the machine below. However, if your family or small home office doesn’t need multipage scanning and copying, nor the printing speeds and features of Epson’s high-end printers, the EcoTank ET-2760 is a good choice and it will save you some money.
However, it falls short of some core features, especially if you have specific needs, including an automatic document feeder and Ethernet connectivity. That means it has most of the core essentials you’d need for daily printing needs. It sits between the company’s lineup of bulk-ink all-in-one printers, just beneath the Epson ET-3760 and the Editor’s Choice Epson ET-4760. The result is a practical printer with incredibly low running costs and holds enough ink in the box to print literally thousands of pages. Like its predecessor, the ET-2760 is an inkjet multifunction printer, copier, and scanner that holds its ink in tanks and gets refilled from bottles, and doesn’t use disposable plastic cartridges.
